At Open Door, we encourage women to schedule necessary pelvic examinations and laboratory tests with their primary care provider or with the specialist – the gynecologist. The primary care provider or gynecologist will discuss ways to keep you free of sexually transmitted diseases, assist with choosing the correct birth control method for your lifestyle and needs, refer you to the HIV counselor for information and testing, and assist women experiencing menopausal symptoms. In addition, Open Door providers will arrange for in-office procedures or hospital based procedures when necessary. Please call any of our locations for further assistance in arranging an appointment.
Breast Health Education, Outreach, and Case Management Program
The Breast Health Education, Outreach, and Case Management Program available to women at all of our four sites: Ossining, Port Chester, Sleepy Hollow, and Mount Kisco, includes support services delivered by a care team that connects women to breast health education, screening, diagnosis, and treatment. Bilingual Patient Advocates located at each site educate women about breast cancer and provide patient navigation services and support in finding the right wellness plan for each woman. Low income women may be eligible for reduced cost mammograms and cancer treatment. Open Door does not provide mammograms or cancer treatment. Patients are referred to local independent partner providers. Each women should speak with their primary care provider about getting a breast health screening or putting together a personalized care plan and case management plan.
If you are an adult woman aged 21-65 or have a family history of breast cancer and would like to participate in the Breast Health Program simply visit your primary care provider and ask about the program.
